CAMAC PRODUCTS
The venerable CAMAC (IEEE 583) modular
instrumentation standard has been used in virtually every physics
laboratory and many industrial applications since its introduction in
1975. For over two decades Data Design has been a leader in CAMAC
instrumentation design. As instrumentation standards have moved
forward and customer interest in CAMAC has subsided, Data Design has kept
pace by moving popular function modules to PXI designs. While CAMAC products are no longer offered by Data Design,
customer support continues to be available. Please see the legacy
product support page for more information.
PXI / CPCI PRODUCTS
With its high speed architecture and unmatched
compatibility, PXI is quickly becoming the platform of choice for
modular instrument installations. Data Design provides a series of
PXI instruments instruments with
the high quality, cutting edge technology that customers
have come to expect from us. These products are supported by turnkey software, open source driver
code, and available connectivity to popular instrumentation software
packages.
Note that PXI is built on CPCI (Compact PCI). Data Design products
do not use the PXI extensions, meaning these products can be used in CPCI and
PXI systems. Most users do integrate these modules with PXI systems
and software, such as those available from National Instruments.
Integrated systems can be purchased from Data Design.

these designs also can be adapted to custom requirements.

The TR122 Transient Recorder is a high performance two channel
transient waveform digitizing instrument in a single slot 3U Compact PCI module, capable of digitizing to 12 bits at rates up to 200 MS/s on each
channel independently. Each channel includes an independent analog front end and analog-to-digital converter, providing superior interchannel
isolation and full bandwidth availability on all channels. The TR122 and included software provide a turn key transient measurement solution,
while included software source code and drivers provide powerful system level integration options.

Digital Delay Generator |

The DG101 Digital Delay Generator is a compact PCI module designed to furnish four precisely timed outputs when triggered by an
external input. Each output delay and terminal pulse width is independently programmable. Delays up to 167 ms may be programmed with one nanosecond resolution, while extremely low jitter operation makes each
cycle precisely repeatable. An auto triggering feature makes the DG101 operable as a precision pulse generator.
The DG101 and included software provide a turn key digital sequencing solution, while included
software source code and drivers provide powerful system level integration
options.

Adaptable Digital Signal Processor |

The C64DSP provides the digital signal processing power of the high end Texas Instruments TMS320C6416 DSP chip with a complement of 128Mbyte of
SDRAM and a fully outfitted expansion connector, providing a ready
platform for rapid integration of DSP applications. The expansion
connector includes the entire external memory interface (EMIFB), both serial ports, both timers, and a complement of digital I/O and power supplies. A provided software application offers the ability to load code, control
processor operation, and transfer data to or from any area of on board memory over the CPCI backplane. A complete schematic of the
board is included along with driver and application source code. Because there is no
need to ever run DSP code to use the features of the chip from the CPCI host, at one level the C64DSP provides a simple CPCI development system. At another level the C64DSP is a powerful DSP coprocessor and configurable I/O module.

The UH101 USB Host Controller is a compact PCI module providing
USB peripheral connectivity to a host computer module on four front panel connectors. The module provides host USB connectivity when installed
alone or in addition to existing USB host controller hardware. The UH101 uses a popular NEC host controller chip with USB 1.1 and 2.0 support using
the industry standard OHCI/EHCI architecture. A wide variety of operating
systems including Windows, Linux, and others include built-in support for these devices.
