Data Design was founded on the talents of our President and Principal Engineer, John Giganti. Mr. Giganti’s career focus on electronic hardware and instrumentation design set the tone for the company’s growth and attracted a collection of talented staff to work at the company. Since that time Mr. Giganti has continued to provide valuable insight and guidance to the career growth of the engineers working for him. All members of our leadership team have a long history with the company and are actively involved with the management, development, and improvement of Data Design's processes and the customer projects which utilize them.
As an advanced technology engineering firm, Data Design has assembled a staff of highly experienced and capable senior electrical engineers and software engineers, along with internal and adjunct technical staffing to support extended software and packaging design functions. Currently all senior engineering staff at Data Design have at least a four year degree and ten or more years of relevant experience. Furthermore, most of our engineers have graduate degrees and significantly more experience. Customers know that when Data Design accepts a project, then the necessary talent will be applied because we understand that there is no substitute for experience. Moreover, our lead engineers generally have cross discipline skill sets in electronics combined with software, mechanical, and manufacturing skills. This tightly woven skill set provides a project team with significant synergies and fewer road blocks, allowing shorter schedules and reduced cost.
The staff at Data Design includes a high ratio of engineers to support staff, maximizing the portion of corporate energy applied to technical achievement. This productive and motivated staff is managed in an intentionally matrixed fashion, with each member providing unique skills to teams formed around specific projects. Processes are designed in ways which allow individual engineers to maximize their efficiency without being slowed by bureaucratic steps. We place a high value on an engineer who can complete an entire project on his or her own but also knows how to utilize the resources of the company to improve efficiency and quality and to maximize productive speed and minimize cost.
Data Design maintains a secure facility with additional space allocated for work on the most sensitive projects. All of our engineers and most of our support staff are required to have active, top level DOD security clearances. Data Design maintains an approved and audited accounting system, enabling us to work with virtually any type of contract vehicle.
While the cost per unit of time from Data Design staff compares favorably with our competitors, our flexible structure, high average skill level, and actively managed synergies provide substantially higher value per dollar to a project than anything else available. This has been reported by customers time and again, and these accolades have not diminished as our company grows. We believe the formula for customer success is well established at Data Design, and our staff is by far the leading component.
